Hallé
Orchestra musician reaches final of the UK songwriting contest
Born
in Hanover/Germany, Bea moved to Manchester, England in 1987 to
study double bass with Duncan McTier and composition
at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Her
writing is strongly influenced by 20th century composers and primarily
the works of Stravinsky, Shostakovich and the Second Viennese
School of Schoenberg, Berg and Webern, as well as Britpop and
early 70's Krautrock. Bea combines these opposing temperaments
and her impressions of playing in the Hallé Orchestra in
her compositions. Linking ALEAtronic's classical instrumentation
with current electronic influences and traditional song writing
skills proves a daily challenge for Bea in her aim to communicate
different styles and backgrounds to the community through performance-related
education work.
With
her latest re-invention, marbelious, Bea finds a new
outlet for her playing and
programming skills. marbelious are working on their first
album "I lurk here", a collection of mainly ambient
and atmospheric tracks.
