Born and educated in Scotland Rob spends his time playing the viola in the Hallé Orchestra and participating extensively in leading education workshops. He especially enjoys working with special needs schools.

Rob is a keen DIY renovator of houses and the father of two young children. His instrument, which adds the typically beautiful mellow viola sound to ALEAtronic’s pieces is a copy from a famous old Italian master. In his spare time Rob enjoys cooking, drinking, joinery, running, upholstery, cycling and working on his classic motorbike.
